One area that has been close to the Club professionals' heart is the development of Junior Golf.

Golf is a great sport for getting your child outside more and making new friends at the same time. Our aim is to provide a fun learning environment that will give your child new skills not only for golf but for life as they get older. Getting your child into golf couldn't be easier with our golf pathway. We run golf days in the school holidays, weekly group academy sessions and 1-1 coaching to give your child a great experience whilst learning golf with us.

The Ely City Golf Club Junior Academy

In the Spring of 2019 Ely City Golf Club launched a new Junior Golf Academy.

PGA professional Andrew George is at the heart of the scheme which will provide a structured pathway into golf. Andrew and his team will be taking Juniors through from beginners to accomplished golfers using the Golf Foundations ‘Junior Golf Passport’ which is a national structured learning programme, endorsed by the PGA. Ely City Golf Club is an accredited ‘HSBC Golf Roots Centre’.

Our new Junior Academy will take place on Saturday’s throughout the spring/summer months and will cater for all skill levels. Using the Golf Foundation Passport program all sessions are structured for skill development with games and activities to help children learn faster. Each term is made up of 6 weeks and new skills with playing opportunities are at hand every Saturday packed with a lot of fun!

To book your child into our Academy please call us for availability and classes. We recommend children aged 5 and over for our Academy as each coaching session lasts 60 minutes. Equipment and balls are supplied, however if you have your own equipment please bring it along.

Academy Structure

Our 6-week terms will cover all aspects of the game so juniors who attend will learn the skills required to get out onto the course. Below is a breakdown of our coaching timetable.

Week 1 – Swing fundamentals
Week 2 – Long game
Week 3 – Short game
Week 4 – On course play
Week 5 – On course play
Week 6 – Recap/presentation

Costs -  £90 for each 6-week term and booking is required.
